Post by: Brandon Khoo on October 03, 2008, 08:05:15 AM
I don't think you'd want to use this on GTs.........

Why is that so much..is it a classic ? Wired with gold or something ? I would be framing it and hanging off the wall, but much prefer the look of some of the japanese lures to frame instead.

Boys, boys, boys  - try this one - 3lbs of Gold and platinum and over 100ct of diamonds and rubies.

Over $1 mill.

And you thought GT gear was expensive    ;)

Mick - I reckon you should get one of these. It might be good for a big GT

Janelle, do you want Duncan to buy this one for you? It would look great in "your" tackle box.
Sorry Dunc some things have to be said.
Janelle i also believe that you have been doing some rod testing? i hope that it is going well for you. let me know what happens with this lure that you are looking at?

OOPS - just realized I am logged in as Duncan - The following are comments from Janelle not Duncan (though Duncan is partial to bling - just the fishing tackle kind)
Hi Brock,

I prefer my bling all in one big rock, rather than lots of little ones.   Besides Duncan knows better than to buy jewellery for me - I think he would be too scared I would pull out a hand lens and check it out.  Like all good lures I was admiring this one purely for the craftsmanship.  :)

Did give rod testing a go the other day.  The waves were whitecapping onto the jetty but I still managed some reasonable casts.  The main thing that came from it......... I need gloves  mmmm maybe I could design ones with diamond cuffs - would look good in photos.  (oh and that if a big GT did manage to stumble across my lure I would be in the drink for sure)

PS you had better be thinking diamonds soon - not long to go

Janelle

Brock, if I read Janelle's post right, it'll be the end of your fishing days soon!!   :D

Brandon, janelle is either talking about Cooktown or the new baby due any day now.

Well that's all i'm taking it as, definately not buying that lure

Brock, seeing the baby and Cooktown are so close together I was thinking more along the lines of Diamonds for those who stay behind.  Would be happy with one of the strand from the skirt of that lure.

Brandon I work on the theory of let them fish as much as they like in the baby's early years.  After that the kid goes with them.

Janelle i guess i'm a lucky man then as Sarah isn't a big fan of jewelry, i guess that just means more fishing trips for me in the future.

I'm up for that, any suggestions?

Brock, I got Duncan's list of trips he wants to do next year and frankly I would be much better off if he had said he wanted a dozen or more of those collector Heddon's

List so far

Barra trip Feb, Japan Feb (visiting Zenaq, Patriot etc) , Bugatti middle of the year, New Cal sometime (because I was mean and went OS when he was supposed to go this year), Christmas Island September, New Zealand jigging Dec.  There was talk of maybe doing Cooktown again too and Lord Howe.  Throw in his normal fishing and jigging trips and any other trips you guys come up with and I am starting to wonder if the R&D budget is getting taken advantage of.....

it bears a few parallels to what I do so it all looks pretty reasonable to me. I must be missing something ......  ;)  :D

You are all as bad as each other.

Oh well it doesn't matter,  I am working on expanding the R & D budget anyway  .......seen some new poppers I want.    ::)

A bigger budget would be good, Janelle. I am sure Duncan thought of another trip after talking to me this afternoon!  :D
