Title: Split ring size for BFT stickbaits
Post by: Mahmoud Salem on March 01, 2013, 12:57:35 AM
Hi all
I will be using medium sized stickbaits tareting blue fin tuna up to 200lbs, lures around 80-90gm and 180mm length,
If we take Daiwa Dorado Slider as an example, will be using it with 3/0 ST66 or may switch to singles(via two splits or assist) if trebles get straightened
what size Owner split rings will be suitable, the #8 seem underpowered and the #10 seem too big to use, will the #9 be suitable enough or you recommend something else

Thanks
Mahmoud Salem

Hi Mahmoud,

If you have them readily available the decoy's spilt rings in a size 9 will do........or even the owner's will do at the size 9's too.
