Title: Twin Power 14000K
Post by: Jay Wilkins on November 15, 2015, 09:44:53 AM
Hey just a quick question if anyone is using the new twin power 14K for popping/stickbaits at all and if so how are they holding up?

Cheers.

Has anyone seen OZ prices on the twin power sw range yet? With 14k swb stella at $1045.00 they will need to be competitive.

14K TP is retailing around the $800-$850 mark. Waaay too much when you look at the Stella prices.

Agree why would you buy a TP for that price.

I was interested as i need a 10 / 14 size reel for jigging. I already have a 10k stella sw for popping(hg) so now need a PG reel. I had heard the $850 mark but hadn't seen a price.

Freddys in Townsville had them for around $700 on their sale. I ended up getting a 14K Stella instead anyway.

Nothing wrong with that!

Besides the fact you can't get the full range here in AUS i think Shimano have stuffed up with their retail pricing. Like a few people have said you are probably better off saving up the extra 300 and get a stella. I reckon if they were $100 less they would fly out the door :-) Bloody nice reels mind you :-)

Saragosa much better priced and Alan hawk review sees little difference with twin power. Might go saltiga expo 5500 and pay extra

Given the placement of plastic frame parts in the Twinpower for the price you would bite the bullet and get a Stella every time.  I don't own one (Twinpower) but I have serviced a few already and I can't see where the price tag is justified.

Can not go past Saltiga Expedition 5500H,
Mine has become my all time go to reel when fishing 50LB braid. I reach for my Dogfight for 80 - 100LB braid - simply brilliant reels.
Save your penny's and spend the extra you will be glad you did.

Cheers Ross

Yeah I'd either go the Saragosa then step it up to a Stella, skipping whats in between. The price of the Twin Power is far above what it should be.
