Sunny - are you thinking of posting something on this thread?
If not, I will delete the thread.

I dont know what Sunny's Q was, but I might take this opportunity to give a good report on the new canon powershot D10. I've only had it 2 weeks.

I find it very easy to use and I am happy with the images. It was dpreview's pick of the current crop of waterproof point and shoots. Here's some shots from a recent holiday on the D10 last week.

getting the bad news from a big GT from the shore. 20lb castaway and 20lb FC100 leader, 50-60lb GT. This did not end well....

Some nice shots there Voltzy, love the little permit and the titan. I have been thinking about getting one of those D10's as a pocket camera when traveling light. I am using a Canon G9 in a waterproof housing at the moment. It takes fantastic shots but when in the case it's no longer a compact option. Does the D10 have any noticable shutter lag ? I know the Olympus cameras suffer from this badly, thats why I went with the G9

Mate, I got the D10 to replace the olympus. Shutter lag is heaps better with the canon. and it has a great flash on it.

Sorry Brandon, don't know what happened, here we go again...

I admit that I want a really cool underwater photo of a GT with a popper hanging out of its gob, anyone out there got any reviews on them or is there anything to watch out for, I mean are these cameras really built to be submerged in saltwater??

truly nice,  I may be wrong,  though it look's to me it's Fiji,

I agree with you on that one Luke.

I like the Bluefin photo and the shot 3rd one down look's familiar as i may of been there a few year's ago if the place or Island is what i think it is.

Sunny, I have a Canon G10 with a waterproof housing. It is a bit fussy and thw waterproof housing is hardly small but it is very good indeed in terms of the photos it takes.

The fusilier shot is exceptional in many ways.

Thanks for posting

Chuen, I have been using a Sanyo Exacti, pictures are great both above and below water - and has the added advantage of being a useful video camera as well.  You can film the fight above water, then jamb it under the surface for some upclose footage at the leader, then film the release and angler smiles - all in one seamless movement and without having to wipe off the lens!  And only a couple of hundred bucks on E-bay!

Brandon, the G10 is a bit bulky going by the photos online, I already have a couple of SLR's and was just wanting something in the smaller sizes.

Peter, thanks for that mate, will check them out in greater detail. they do look pretty snazzy!

One of the lads at work just bought an Olympus mju tough 8000 for his trip to South America and left it on his desk.

It is waterproof to 10 metres so probably good for a few spearing videos too.

Get yourself a Canon G10 with a waterproof case like Brandon.  Will leave any of those waterproof pocket cameras for dead.

Here's a shot taken with the previous model G9 in a waterproof housing.  Not sure I could imagine a better result.

Fantastic shot Steven...the point and shoot cameras are good but the clarity of the pics from the canon G series realy does shine though imo.
Canon has released a new G11 allready ??? The poor old G9 is now twice superceded but the G series are still the closest thing to an SLR on a budget. So many things you can do with them if you take the time to learn how. ;)
Not bagging the olympus cameras but I have heard of a lot of problems with the seels especially the battery housing.
I know a couple of guys that use the pentax waterproof cameras and they have only good things to say about them , the pics look good too, and they are in a small package to fit in a shirt pocket
So many more options these days and there seems to be a new release every couple of months. Check out this site dpreview.com .They have lots of comprehensive reviews and feedback about everything photographic
