I'm pleased to give you an update on one of the most popular product in Carpenter rod range.
Coral Viper CV79/40 will be available though Australian Carpenter retailers shortly.
CV79/40 rods we brought this time are in slightly different design and I'll try to shoot some photos later.
p.s. please note that Carpenter has stopped using 'SHP' on model name and this CV79/40 is in no difference to previous CV79/40-SHP.
Cheers,
Tak

Here are some photos of CV79/40 AUS special version

CV79/40 is popular model and you should be able to get it in your region when Carpenter runs next production. If you would like rod in this particular design, Fish Head should be able to assist you.

Any video or pictures of the CV79/40 in action. Can't seems to find one.

Hi James,
I don't have on either but below links are with prototype CV (2 inches longer - I think they stop testing this rod) and you will get some idea.

Can you please reserve two of them for me to be delivered through Fish Head?
-
Ben, the correct way to do this is to order the rods at Fishhead.
-
Fishhead must be one of the few places on earth to have stock of this rod at the moment!
-
Fish Head is able to supply the Coral Viper CV79/40 ----- but not for much longer - if you have ever thought of getting one then don't leave it for to long - we are almost sold out and I don't know when the next production run for the CV79/40 will be.
Just phone the boys on +61 7 3207 9965 or email [email protected]
Cheers Janelle

This link shows some nice bend on the CV also.....

I put my CV into the handle from my SP78EXH and it gives a little more length as I am tall, 194cm.
Tak, if you happen to be in touch with Konish San tell him I would love to purchase one of the handles off the +2 inch proto-type CV's in the videos you posted or even a version of the proto-type +2" CV. I have long been hoping that Carpenter would bring out a 7'11" version of the CV 79/40 since they first came out, it's my favorite GT rod of all time.
-
Andrew ,
Gonna cost you approx 1/3 the price of a whole rod for the handle alone , Takai-san bought one for his DJ83ML and the cost from Carpenter was around US$. 350.- sent to Takai-san house in Hokkaido . I think your SP78EX-H handle will serve you well at the moment and spend the money for other items .

Hi Andrew,
This will be orderring part of custom rod and will cost similar to what Jon mentioned. If you are interesting to modify your existing handle, it will be cheaper option I think.
I'll ask about this prototype rod but I don't think he is still testing this rod.
Cheers,
Tak

Hi Jon, thanks for the info., .....I think I have all the "other items" :-[ :-[ ???
Hi Tak, I have thought about this modification option in the past, the aluminium handle extension such as on the SP710H seems to work but it is a weighty option. Apart from golf handle extensions which I think may be not suitable for heavy tackle rods such as this, do you reccomend any other options? just out of interest.
Thanks
Andy

Sorry not really Andrew. Some rod builder who does this kind of things on regular bases may know better.

Hi Tak
Do you have any idea when the next production of the CV79/40 is finished? Do you think it will hit the market in the US?
Best regards,
Peter
-
Hi Peter,
I'm not really sure at this stage but won't be earlier than late this year or early next year.
Once Carpenter runs production, availability will be depending on each dealer rather than Carpenter.
Cheers,
Tak
