Title: Demo Daze ?
Post by: Chris Young on February 12, 2011, 08:57:13 AM
I've been getting a lot of questions about how to swim the Sidewinder, so after talking with Brandon we decided it would be best to just show you with some hands on demo days!

Just putting out the feelers at the moment but if we get enough interest we could hold a "casting workshop day" in Brisbane and/or Sydney. These days could include things like how to get the best action from your Full Scale Stickbaits and Poppers, knot tying, leader settups from the Guru himself and learning how to sledge on a Full Scale level  ;)
Would be a great way to meet some likeminded popping addicts
At this stage I'm hoping to keep it as informal as possible
So what do you say, any takers?

Crusty will demonstrated his famed "killer goby" casting technique on the day as well. For people who are interested but can't attend, you can simulate this by simply not turning your bail arm over on your reel before trying to cast the lure as hard as you can.  :o

Yes, the 'Killer Goby' is the easiest Popping related action to learn  ::)

Thanks Luke,

I bet you would like to give them a try on the SBT if you had the chance.

What a great demo that would be.

I will be having a go on them very soon as long as i can tow my boat there.

The number of people interested has me thinking of making it to the brisbane day, be good to swim some lures and put some faces to names.

Hell we in Cape Town/south africa cant seem to get a flight for that weekend pity though  ;D ;D so andre and myself wont be there but if some one would take a dvd recorder along and film it  , would really appreciate it to see these lures in action plus put faces to names .naturally andre will pay for postage seeing as i was going to pay for the 2 airline tickets  ;) ;)

The DVD sounds like a great Idea, we were hoping someone might bring one along ;) We could allways come to SA to show you if Dre pays  :o

It looks like we have plenty of interest in this "do", Brisbane will be a sure thing, Sydney is a maybe at this stage, if we get more numbers for Sydney it's a goer too. We will look into setting a date for Brisbane and let you all know

For Brisbane we will need a suitable venue, needs to be only a couple feet above water and with enough area so all can see, any suggestions?

Don't know the water side areas that well but somewhere where people can stand along a boardwalk/rock groyne/pier and the person working the lure can cast along in front of everyone would be good.

Crusty I'm sure if all you brought in your suitcase and hand were Sidewinders and Kongs, you could probably pay for your own bloody trip!!!  ;D ;D ;D

Wish I could jet over there to join....
