Title: Source for aftermarket spools
Post by: John Sykes on October 28, 2011, 09:14:37 PM
Hi All,
I am chasing a source for either the SOM or JM 16000 spool for the Stella 10000.  Any ideas?  I have been informed that the last JM production run was only 75 units, seems a bit low to me?!? :o Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,

  John.

John - We should have stock of the 16000 JM Spools soon....

If you chasing a 16000 SOM spool, look no further than the fantastic team at Saltywater Tackle, site sponsors and some of the nicest most helpful guys you'll ever come across... Sami and Paul will sort ya out...

Looks like they still got stock of the 16K SOM in Blue...

I guy on here called Stewart Martin is in the know of some new aftermarket spools, think (???) they are made by jigging master? meant to hold a bit more drag etc... sound good!

I got my SOM 16 from JDM as Saltywater was out of stock. Since then Saltywater tell me they are back in stock. Saltywater had the cheapest by a fair bit. I managed an extra 20 metres (340metres) of PE6 by using only tread tape (white plumbers tape) as backing. It sits a little proud of the lip to begin with.

How much tape did you wrap on mate?

better than mono backing as far as slip goes?

Cheers
