Title: Patriot-Design Atomic Pile - Production Order
Post by: Duncan O'Connell on December 14, 2008, 11:34:55 PM
The Atomic Pile is an new lure designed with a perfect principle. Any serious hunter will appreciate the benefit of using the Atomic Pile. GT are tough clever monsters who are not easily lured and captured. Thus the Atomic Pile has been intentionally crafted to produce the same sound that bait fish make leading the GT to believe it has a true feeding chance!

The teasing effect, balance and response of the Atomic Pile is awesome. Used well it is irresistible to GT`s. A long pitch propeller, (which is a first in the?sea monster hunting world), produces the actions and sounds of a small feeder fish attracting the hungry attention of our target.

Continuous high tempo short jerk and dipping produces a deep base sound vastly different from the popping sound and so attracts a lot of attention in the casting game. The slow tempo approach is old fake and the monsters know that, as we said earlier the GT`s are not stupid. With the high tempo jerk and jerk approach the Atomic pile looks and sounds like a real bait fish and produces fantastic results.

The propeller on the Atomic pile provides the lure with an irregular sliding action making it an attractive target for monsters other than GT`s like Yellow fin Tuna for example. This lure is awesome and will attract huge monsters. We want to show it off.

Wire Material : SUS304(3mm) welded front eye
Propeller Material : ALUMINUM A6061 TI-5

Note)
1. Please employ the continuous high tempo short jerk approach for best results

2. During periods of no action the Atomic Pile floats at between 30 degrees and horizontal to the surface. The hooks are suspended from the lower surface and because of the angle of the lure there is a much greater chance of success when a monster bites. In fact there is almost no chance of a miss!

3. When employing a rhythmical jerk and jerk method, the propeller continues spinning when pausing between jerks. It is best to allow the propeller to almost come to a standstill before applying the next jerk. The jerk and dipping action gives off a deep bass sound while the left over movement in the propeller makes the Atomic pile dart to the left and right.

4. The propeller design is thick and hard so as to handle the shock of impact, jerking and pressure. As strong as it is though it is made of Aluminum. This means that it will not last forever and will some times need repaired and replaced. Using another material for the propeller would seriously compromise the performance of the Atomic pile, being either too heavy or too weak. We recommend that you repair the Atomic pile using pliers after a monster has bitten it. This will unfortunately weaken the propeller though so you should treat it as expendable.

5. We do also recommend that you take the option to purchase a spare propeller with your Atomic Pile. To this end a specially designed wrench has been produced to change the propeller with ease.

6. As we have already stated, these propellers are to be considered expendable. When you go hunting with the Atomic Pile it is highly recommended you go armed with plenty of replacement propellers. The frequency of breakage of the propeller is explained in the following sentence.

6-1) During a full days hunting with no bites you can expect to exhaust one or two Atomic Pile propellers.
6-2) On a day when the monsters are biting then there is a chance the propeller will break or be damaged with a single bite.

Thus as a general rule we recommend one propeller for one bite.

7. The Atomic Pile is designed without a lead weight. As the propeller section is designed to be removed and replaced, the washers in this area provide the weighting system. As the weighting is very important to the superb action of the Atomic Pile please take care not to lose any of the washers when replacing the propeller.

The Atomic Piles definitely do not fall in the budget end of GT lures.  But..... these monster fizzers deserve a spot in any GT aficionado's tackle box.

Has anyone caught anything from this Stick? I haven't seen any pictures on GTs with them. Cheers!

I hate to be the cynical one but reading the blurb it sounds like it was written by the result of the drunken offchance meeting of a gtpopping afficianodo and the producer of Iron Chef...it's your money however I would love to see the positive results  :P

HAHAHAHA, love the Iron Chef bit Travis, I love that show :D

Seriously I can see a place for these things fishing at night, I think they would get more strikes and hookups than conventional poppers :o

I have seen the same concept with the propellers from Peacock Bass fishing in the Amazon, they even attached 2 of these at the rear. When ripped it really gives hell of a roar, doubt the blades will last after a big hit though. ;)

Yeah! I bought one with spare blades, arriving soon. Hope to hit something on it on my coming trip. I have a friend who fished with Matsutani in Christmas Island in August 2008 on Shore Fire. Well, Matsutani quitely took out on these rippers and scared the shit out of everyone on-board. :D
