Title: Carpenter Lures Arrived
Post by: Nick Bowles on July 24, 2013, 04:09:01 PM
We received a nice shipment of Carpenter lures that included 120 Gamma, 140 Diablo, 250 Gamma Pandora 155, Pandora 155+30 and Kattobi. We also received new caps, shirts and a large range of the awesome Carpenter Split rings.

I have started to fish Pandoras a lot more over the last season and everything came together when I landed a 142cm estimated 54KG GT in Socotra on the Pandora. This lure is an amazing lure but does take time to get used to working it but for the quite days when nothing is happening and there is no current or the sea is flat it is a great way to fish deeper water up to 100ms and give yourself a good chance to land big GTs

Cheers,
Nick

Pandora 155 and 155+30 Red Gurukun. This I think will be a very good lure for Southern Oman as the GTs feed a lot of reef fish like emperor, goat fish, sea bream etc that are all red colour.

Hi Nick, like it, it would certainly add an element of tension / excitement,  to throwing a beautifully handcrafted gamma with your name painted on it into the mix down south with 50:50 odds of ever seeing it again. I might find myself being more selective than usual on where I cast it. Hope you catch some trophies on them.

Hi Andy, Definitely a problem throwing a custom lure or any expensive lure in the shallow and current!! I do believe that all lures should be fished but a case of right place at the right time. Sometimes get asked why I'm casting an abalone gamma in 60ms of water..............Answer I shouldn't get reefed here!!

He doesn't need one, not after I'd finished with the shipment.

Hi Alex, you might have to buy from Trev's Lure Shack!!

No probs can send to UK. The online shop is up and running in Oct but for the moment Paypal or bank transfer. Other option can keep the gear and send it to the island for you?

Cheers,
Nick
