Christmas Island GT Popping Video
December 16, 2011, 10:37:21 AM
Here is  a little video I put together with some of the footage shot on the Christmas Island trip back in June.
This was only about 1/10th of the footage I have to cut up so there may be some more videos on the way.
It is best veiwed in 1080.

The video can veiwed here: http://www.fishhead.com.au/store/pages/Tightline-TV.html

Cheers,

Brett

Hi Brett

Thanks for posting the video it is excellent.   I was there in July this year and had a great couple of days on the tuna and a GTs.  Have found it hard to find people that have been there with intel on the place so it's great to see some footage of the fishing.

Have you boys been going there for awhile ?  Would love to have a chat about your experiences over there and what charters you have been with as I am hoping to get back there again this year.

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave,

Flick me an email and will give you some oil on the place.

Went there 5 years ago now and have some good hook-ups with the local member, we are looking at some packages for GTP.com members in 2012.

Hi David

The trip to CXI earlier this year was a blast - we had planned a trip the previous year but the airstrip was not re-opened in time for us after the closure for a couple of years. We're going back in six weeks, with a plan to target larger tunas and GT's (among other things) and we have another trip in the works for later 2012 as well.
If you want to read a bit more about the place then check out the article in the tight line magazine.  There aren't charters as such but I can tell you how we are doing it and it works out at a really good price.

Cheers

Thanks guys

Luke, hopefully you got my email mate.

Thanks Duncan, I read your article a week or two back and its a great read and sounds like a great trip. Well done mate

I managed a 50kg YFT there as pictured in my GT Popping profile.  I found the tuna bite was red hot and even though I only trolled for a day I had to tell the boys to bring the lines in as we were getting double hookups left right and centre.  Another angler there managed a YFT at around 120 pounds trolling on fly which I believe is a IGFA world record so there are some good fish to be caught over here.

I will give you a call soon Duncan as I would love to have a chat about your trip.

Cheers
Dave
