Gents...
Best jigging rod around $500 give/take and what reel would you put on it (reel is extra cost not within $500).
To be used in any state but mainly off of Sydney for anything from Kings to Tuna, sharks, you name it.
Reel size and type not really an issue.
Thinking about PE 5 to 6.
To jig up to 300g or there about.
OH or Spin either way.
Let's have it....

I run a 8000swpg with a 10000sw spool and pe6 on mine. I'm only jigging max 100m depth, if your fishing deeper you may want a 12000 spool and run pe5 for extra capacity. Definetly suited to a 10000/5000 size reel and a fantastic combo. BUY NOW!

I have the smith rod and love it. Caught lots of AJ up to 19 kg on it, and it performes brilliant

Yamaha blanks Galahad 52/10. Light at 290 gms but with a strong spine. I've hauled up groupers , oceanic White tips from 80 meters plus.
Got a daiwa Catalina 5000 spooled with varivas no. 5. I use daiwa 80 lb fluro leader, jig 200 to 250 gms.
Light but strong setup.

Only area of dissatisfaction on the YB 52/10 is the reel seat. With fish around the 15 kg and above weight the reel seat feels wobbly. Reel feels it may come loose when cranking the fish up.
