Try www.plat.co.jp or www.japantackle.com

I believe plat and japan tackle are quite reputable, however their prices don't even come close to what you can find reels for in the shops in japan.  For instance, you should be able to find a Saltiga 4500Z for no more than $550 Aus.  Trouble is finding a shop that does english.  I bought some reels over there from a place called Fishing Max but had the advantage of an interpreter.

don't expect to be able to read it!

Here is a site that has been down for a while that i have been told is very good. The price is in US dollars but with the state of the US dollar its very reasonable compared to some prices around.
the site is

    http://www.ginrinpeche.com/

Good luck

Ginrinpeche was the biggest player in fishing tackle on eBay and then one day, they just vanished. There was all sorts of scuttlebutt around about them but I'm glad to see them back.

I purchased from Ginrin while on eBay without any issues. I think they are revamping their site soon too.

Fishing buddy has got very good prices on there terminle tackle and reels.
I got a pack of  Owner trebles ST-76TN 5X-strong for $15sg which is about $10 Australian.
I would not recomend buying a rod over 6 foot because the postage is then about $200

I have sent specs of what I want with pictures etc to one of our machinery suppliers in japan to see if he can help. he is an avid jig fisherman so should be able to find me a good deal
