Title: Anyone have a spare Saltiga Z4500 handle?
Post by: Steven Ng on January 08, 2015, 01:38:55 PM
Hi all,

I managed to break the whole handle knob including pinion off my Z4500 - unfortunately it was my own fault and wasn't done fishing!  Does anyone know where I can source a new pinion or whole handle given that it's a relatively old model.  I want to reuse the Saltiga Power Knob that I've got so just need the pinion and / or a handle with the pinion.

I've also managed the shred the screws on the power knob when trying to remove them - must be all the years of saltwater locking them in tight!  If anyone has an idea how I can remove it that would be much appreciated - as a worst case I'll have to drill them out and replace them with some self tapping screws.

Thanks for your help.

This is the only aftermarket part I know of for the Z4500

what happened to the reel if it wasn't fishing related to many beers in the man cave?

Thanks for the link - trying to find a cheaper solution as don't want to spend too much given the age of the reel.

Yes - it was a man cave accident. No beers unfortunately - just careless when reversing the car which hit a tray which in turn hit the rod racks and must have pushed the handle knob against the wall. It was a freak accident so bummed that it happened and can't use the reel without a major cost fix!
