Title: eBay - not everything is a bargain!
Post by: Brandon Khoo on October 16, 2008, 02:13:31 PM: I've seen some bargains from time to time on eBay but occasionally, you see the other end of the spectrum. There is one chap trying to sell a Daiwa Blacksheep 250 for $620!! :o

That's more than the retail price I saw anywhere for the reel in Australia when it was available.

that is way too high .

i have seen a few selling them from 500 to 650 .
but this one is the highest i have even seen .

hi brandon .

yeah i do own one but i am looking for another one for my 2nd baitcaster rod .
as i have one short rod ( for the snag) and one long rod (for the open area) which is missing the reel .

i used the blacksheep at shoalwater trip last year for the queen fish it was fun :D ;)

I understand the current Blue backer is essentially the same reel and of course, Daiwa is releasing the new Pluton which I would look at in preference to a Blacksheep now. I wouldn't mind one of these!

yeah i have been thinking about the blue backer reel for a while and i just notice that there is a new releasing which you just said the pluton in the fishing magazine but i have to check them out yet .
but i will still try my lucky on the blacksheep first ;D

Post by: Andrew Poulos on January 06, 2009, 07:10:53 AM: I have no idea about that reel, but there is a penn 9500ss (US version) going for over $300 on ebay as well. Not an astronomical amount but more than it should be as there are other capable better performing reels around for that price.
