anyone know of a simmilar rod? I want to use it to cast 80g metal slugs and poppers off the rocks.
also looking at a lighter option to cast x raps 14 and small poppers. say up to 40g -50g

Hey gus, check out the Temple reef stealth STK 76 as an alternative to the 80 TN.  For lighter duties the Daiwa Catalina 762H would be ideal, I have both of these and very happy with them.

You should still be able to pick up an 80TN or 80S from stock if you look around, I have both, they are great rods, but the two above are comparable and better priced.

Failing that TENRYU have some comparable rods.

Gus,

I picked up one of these recently when Plat had them on sale.

http://www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/product_info/language/en/products_id/13033/cPath/36_762/garage-sale/garage-sale-daiwa-seahawk-80mh.html (http://www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/product_info/language/en/products_id/13033/cPath/36_762/garage-sale/garage-sale-daiwa-seahawk-80mh.html)

Haven't used it yet but it appears to be good quality and feels like it will cast a mile.
