Title: Stickbait rod for Cape Cod Bluefin Tuna
Post by: Glen Costa on March 30, 2015, 07:01:27 AM
Can someone list the good quality stickbait rods around $300-$400 for Cape Cod Bluefin using such lures as Dorado slider, Baby runboh, ron Z lures. Would the Phenix Titan TPX-800M have too stiff or a tip as I really like my conventional Phenix rods along with the warranty. . Looking for something in the 8' length to fish at drag settings of approx 22 lbs.

Any Help and advice appreciated
Thank you

My advise is to try and save that little bit extra and buy something you know 100% will be fit for purpose, tried and tested. Most of the times its cheaper in the long run as you will only have to buy a rod once, rather than twice because you would like an upgrade.

I agree with Jamie!! Big Tuna will make rods not up to the task! Snap like toothpicks!! Happened many times up here in Northern Japan!! Paying extra to get high quality Rod, will give you added confidence to bring the fight to the tuna!!
