Apparently the PG model has a carbon knob on the handle, the XG and HG model have a rubber one.
To change the handle you have to unscrew the gold cap (second and 4th picture) on the side of the reel and screw the handle into the hole, the cap then goes on the other side to keep out water, salt etc.

Good luck.

To find out the ratio (PG, HG, XG), you can just count the number of rotations of the rotor for each turn of the handle.

4.9 for each turn then it is PG.
5.6:1 means it is HG
5.8:1 means it is XG.

I am not 100 % sure of the ratios for PG, HG and XG of the SW-A (this one). They are from memory. The "new" SW-B has other ratios.

It is true what serge says about the handle knobs but it could have been switched after purchase.

On your model, the handle does not fit directly into the opposite reel plate. You need to change the steel pin in the handle to make it fit on the opposite side. It is not difficult but of course you will need to acquire it if it didn't come with the reel.

Regards

I wasn't aware the 2008 10000SW had a PG option, the PG models were an 8000PG & the 20000PG.

My 8000 has 8000SW-PG written on the reel foot.

The 2013 SWB has a 10000 PG option.

There is a difference between JDM version and others.

The Kapanese models are named SW before the number eg SW10000. Others have SW after the number eg 10000SW. Therefore you're reel must be non JDM and hence XG model
