After a jigging blank
6'4 - 7ft max
p.e 5-8
light weight
toying with the idea of turning one off these blanks into a LBG rod anyone willing to share there thoughts or ideas ?? haven't really meet anyone that's done this before..
planning on running a tiagra 30 (braid backing, and 50lb mono top shot)..
want something that i can really apply the drag if necessary
and suited to quick and hard fights but also could withstand long tug of wars if needed
-
ok let me rephrase that
after a jigging blank
6-7ft
50-80lb
up 14kgs of drag
can any one share there thoughts and experiences?
-
Gabriel, I know little about LBG but I was wondering, is it safe to try to fish 14kg of drag on the rocks?!
-
No its not lol and I wouldn't recommend it
I will be running 8-10kgs of drag
I am just trying to paint a picture for the blank
I want it to have the capability to handle 12kgs if i want to put the reel into sunset and skull drag some stubborn fish..
-
hence why i am after a jigging blank, to be built. Easier on me and my back to apply those kinds of drags, then the older and more typical blanks used for lbg

probibley the easiest to get would be a samuri nv12 or maybe a calstar 700
