Title: Anyone Jigged Vanuatu?
Post by: Jon Jarvis on March 14, 2010, 12:04:53 PM
I hear its the home to some big Doggies. Looks like I might be headed over that way and will probably have a leave pass for a few days to chase some Doggies. Any recommendations or experiences?

Jon, to really get onto decent fish in Vanuatu, you will probably need to journey quite some way from Port Vila. The waters around Port have been flogged so you will probably need to find a charter that will take you to one of the other islands. The only problem with this is that a charter on your own of a game boat is expensive.

Hi Jon,
Give Dave from Ocean Blue a call.
I have fished around the west side of Santo and the far north  Banks Islands a number of times for doggies.
They organised my trips so may be able to help you as well
Problem around Santo and the Banks was the number of big fin who also patrolled the sea mounts.....
Great fun, and Santo is only a short flight from Villa,
Cheers
Stan

Sounds a little promising then. Topless was one of the operators I was looking at but will have a better look at Ocean Blue as well. Big Yellowfin would be ok too, just not those pesky GT's.
