Hey all,

Whats the best and cheapest way to send a rod in the post within Australia?

Looking to send a 2 piece 8ft rod, rod breaks down to about 180cm.

Do Aus post do it?

Cheers

Ben

I've used Smart Send several times.

Not the fastest service, but certainly the cheapest I've found, and never had issues with rods not arriving.

Try Australian air express, i used to use them quiet often in past without any drama, price is very reasonable and service is fast.if drop off depo is available in your area, you can save a lot more on pick up cost. I think they are still aust post, just different division I guess.

Use a piece of PVC plumbing pipe.

Smart send rod and reel about $60.

Looks to be the goods!

Just got to get a rod tube / pipe or something...

What dose a 108cm length of pvc down pipe set you back these days?

Unless it is cheap rod you do not mind being damaged, I would not put it in anything less than a PVC pipe.

Agreed, unless a cheap rod - PVC as a minimum

Just head to your local hardware and you can grab the plumbing PVC and the end caps cheaply enough.

The cardboard tubes inside carpet rolls are extremely solid I would have no hesitation sending top end rods in one....
