Goodmorning,

Over a week i go on a new trip and take some gamma,s with me.

Is there or has somebody a video how to work a Gamma?
Then i can see how to use it and practise in a local pond.

Hi Arnout I don't have any videos but I'm happy to tell you how I personally like to work gammas.
A correctly rigged gamma will sit in a nose up attitude in the water with around a fifth of the lure poking out above the surface of the water. The trick is to get the buggers nose under water on the pull so that the lure dives downwards and does a nice flashy rolling motion under water before breaking the surface in a nose up position again.

To make the lure dive you need a slight amount of slack in your before you begin your backward sweep with your rod, to get this slack you need to let the tip of your rod overtake the line on your forward sweep, its almost as if you are throwing a bit of line toward the lure from the tip right at the end of your sweep. the slack in the line creates just enough resistance from the line laying in the water to drag the nose under and let the lure do its work.

Once you have this perfected you can play around with the speed of the retrieve to vary the action more.

As has already been mentioned, the essential part of the whole technique is that small amount of slack line immediately prior to starting the retrieve stroke.

After that it's practice, practice and more practice.

Anyone know what rod he is using?  Red gold and green more Bob Marley than the Carpenters!!
