Hi Richard,
I see that GT79R next generation is being tested <

Can you give any guidance on what the changes would be as well as the availability?
Thanks
Joey

Richard was GT78 Power Fight discontinued?

And how do the characteristics of this rod compare to 78 flex please?

Mark, if i may jump in with a response, the rods are very similarly specced on paper but the power fight is stiffer I beleieve, the Flex was designed to be easier on the back which makes it slightly less capable on bigger faced chuggers. I have only used the PF once but know the flex will do some ridiculous bends for a medium heavy chugging rod, I am pretty sure the PF won't 'flex' as far as the Flex.

Many thanks Andy.... very helpful.

Is the Power Fight still made I am wondering as it is not in any of the current Ripple literature?

Hi Mark, not sure. If no longer available it may be for the reason that it was outdated by some of the newer heavier  7'9" rods that he came on after this, perhaps the final spirit rods??

The Power Fight is discontinued and what Andy is explaining is correct.
