Hi Everybody
I was wondering what's everybody's favourite Stickbait or Popper is for big GT's
And what fish have you caught on it.
Pictures would be appreciated :)

I like the skipjacks
Here is a 60-150g collection.

The skipjacks are great because the fish love them and perform like the more expensive Carpenter and Fisherman lures that are similar in design.
-
Thomas which Crapenter lures are like the skipjacks, I have seen Fisherman long pens that look similar but no in production carpenter lures ?
-
Sorry I said that incorrectly
I was just using Carpenter and Fisherman as an example for more expensive lures.

I think it is time for you to know my favourite GT lures
My favourite GT popper is the Hammerhead C cup
My favourite sinking Stickbait is the Orion Bigfoot 140
My favourite floating Stickbait is the Orion Nambas 140
But the more Affordable side would be Jai Bighead poppers and Jai Stickbaits
-
For information, the S version of nambas does not float ;)
-
Hi Thomas,
Whats the most effective way to work the Orion Nambas floating 140 ?
Thanks!
Joel

I would recommend working them in a slow to medium speed walk the dog style by doing a couple of small pulls and larger pulls. When the fish aren't eating big cup faced poppers this will normally work but Orion Lures website has the best way to work their lures

Hi Joel
You could also ask Eric Le Guyader.
He has a better knowledge of Orion lures than me! (Thanks Eric!!!!! ;D)
-
My favourite is the FCL Labo Ebipop EXT 120.
I find it easy to work, durable, affordable and best bit is it doesn't get water logged and sink.
-
Poppers:
Craftbait GT2, GT3
Mura Mura
Yozuri Surface Bull GT (when I am tired. gasp! ;))
Stickbaits:
Orion Big Foot 140
Shimano Ocea (Sinking version)
I like the shape of the Skipjacks. I am sure they would work well too.
I just bought some Carpenter Pandoras, Temple Reef Ballistas etc. Will see if I get goodluck with them too.

The Carpenter Kattobi can be worked the same way to very good effect.
-
Popper = WCP Montebello 120 colour GBF Sky.
Stickbait = Nomad Dogtooth 150 Blue scale.
-
In my very limited experience.... Orion cona cona.
-
CONO CONO Khai Huang not cona cona ;) :)
-
Had huge success with the duo rough trail floating stick bait on a recent trip, couldn't keep the fish off it. Well priced too.
-
Big Fish Big Current = Glide 180 / Craft Bait GT 3 190 color doesn't make any difference.
For this style you need to dig that cup in and get the most noise and spray to raise that trophy.
Only heavy poppers as mentioned above have the weight to dig in not skip across the surface.

for me the best is ..... craft bait gt3 170 g
