Title: Patriot Design GTZ Extreme 80
Post by: Chanin Puntawong on March 19, 2009, 12:52:01 PM
Hello everyone,

First time posting in this forum, great forum and many information all around. I fish in the US and have gotten into jigging and Tuna popping but it is time for me to get into GT popping. I am looking at the Patriot Design World Combat GTZ Extreme 80. Has anyone had any experience on this rod? If not what rod in the Patriot Design family is as good as this one. I am looking to fish with PE8 or PE10. I will match it with a SW18000HG. Any advice or comment is highly appreciate.

Thank you very much,
Chanin.

Welcome to the forum mate. Not sure about the PD rods but have a look at this recent thread about them.

  Hi Chaninpuntawong,

My choice would be for the Black Diamond77.It's a bit lighter or of the same weight as the Extreme 80 but a bit more powerful.

Pat,

What are your thoughts on the GTZ 80 & Black Diamond 77?

from what I understand, that warning was with regard to what Matsutani saw in Singapore in a store. Now that same store is running knock-off Patriot rods!
