These recent 'by-catch' kept it interesting, the bluefin was a delicious change to our basic trip menu ;D

Annoying shark mackeral, good for marlin baits but thats about it!!
-
not too exotic but a double hookup we had on poppers.
Just managed our first spaniards on poppers last week as well - and when it rain it pours, 5 in about 30 minutes...makes for exciting fishing when they are launching a metre and a half out of the water directly at you with the popper in their gob and the tail still going like crazy!

Bugatti Longtom.

here's the only ones I can manage.......all caught on my home made poppers in the Whitsunday area November last year.

Travis, did you lose any or many poppers to the spanos? I will know by this afternoon whether or not I am heading to North West Island for a long weekend this weekend. Matt

Didn't lose a single one Matt. We were using a fast retrieve and from memory most were hooked on the rear singles (attached by split/swivel/split (splits through where rings on swivel would usually be)).
Fingers crossed you get out to North West, would be a sweet weekend...we're yet to get out there but it's on the list.
