Title: Poppers for Whitsunday's
Post by: paulymassy on June 14, 2009, 06:28:08 PM
Hey all,
At the moment I think I have bought all the poppers I need for the Whitsunday's I have:
5 Rooster 135's
3 Dumbell Pop 150's
1 OK Popper 100g
1 Bubble Pop 110
1 Fat R
1 Backbone 100g

I was just wondering if I have enough poppers and the right poppers, I am popping with a Twin Power 10000, 50lb Braid and a 10-15kg T-Curve Bluewater.

If I have missed any poppers or need more (going for 10days by the way) please inform me.

Thanks,
Paul

shouldnt have any problems finding fish with a 10 day trip. take some spare braid tho, never know what might grab your popper. I suggest get a hold of some 130g cubera from fishhead or the 130g GT mania if you can find them, they work a treat up here in townsville.  best of luck with your trip, look forward to the report.

Thanks mate,
I wanted to take bigger poppers like 130g and things like that but I think it will be too hard to cast those sort of poppers with the rod I am using. Whats your thoughts?

Yep I agree, the poppers you've selected look good for the 50lb gear you'll be using... go heavier and it might be quite hard to work them effectively.
