Hi guys, just wondering if any1 tried using a 200-250 lbs braid as leader connected to PE8 for GT fishing? Any cons or pros for such setup?

I have heard of some guys using PE leaders for barramundi at night but I wouldn't recommend it for GTs. Apart from the obvious fact of a lack of abrasion resistance with the braid leader, you also lose out on the shock asorption you get with a mono leader. There are guys who topshot with very heavy hollow braid but they always have a short mono or kevlar leader.
