Title: Port Hedland
Post by: Chris Jones on July 29, 2009, 06:55:00 PM
Anyone had much experience with G's in Port Hedland, I will be spending some time there over the next few months and am interested in exploring the options. Is there any boat hire facilities?

Thanks

headland is only about 200k's up the road from us, however the coast is quite a lot different.  Probably even shallower than here in dampier and not really a great deal in the way of islands.  There are shoals etc up that way however they would be pretty hard to pop, thats not to say they wouldnt get GT's there and there are alot of other options available.
Barra fishing up that way is premo and things begin to realy fire up around late september through to april.  There is your other trypical stuff available as well, in spearing for trout or bluebone as well as bottom bashing if thats what your into.

Hope this helps a little

there is a fair bit of info about hedland on another site from a few years ago
