Title: London Tackle Shops
Post by: Ewan Macleod on August 21, 2009, 07:46:08 PM
This is a long shot but i'm in London and the Paris for some work and wondering if there are any worth while tackle shops specializing in GT tackle here abouts.

Regards

Ewan.

Ewan, I think Brandon pretty much hit the nail on the head, but never the less it might just be worth giving Farllows of Pall Mall a call in London.
Near Paris is Smith Tackle they can be emailed on [email protected]. If the link is inapropriate, may I make my appologies to the moderators and let the offending item be removed without delay.

Don't bother in the UK. I live here and import everything.

They don't call it Rip Off Britain for nothing...

Unless as Brandon said you want to get tackle for smelly carp! Boilies?

2nd that - difficult to pick stuff up in Britain ... however if you are in France for a while it could be worth tapping up Eric @ Orion Lures as the postage will be dirt cheap to Paris!

Most of my stuff is bought abroad and imported - Brit's haven't caught on to popping and lure fishing in general is an infant sport over here ...

Ewan, the only sensible thing to do is to organise to come home via Singapore.

Ha! Thanks for the tips guys. I thought it was a stab in the dark!

Yeh Brandon stopping in KL on the way back but only for 24hrs... :P Yeah would call in at Anglers Outfitters if i had some more time.

Look forward to their web site getting up and running as it may be a cheaper postage option for oz.

Hi Ewan,

I did London and Paris last year and was really disappointed with tackle in general (I wasn't just narrowing the search to jigging and popping).  Of course I am biased but there is so much more to chose from on the jigging and popping side of things right here at home.

Cheers,

Janelle

Yes, thanks Jon.
He was kind enough to invite me to his opening but it is a bit far to go from Sydney and in any event, I will be going to New Caledonia next weekend. I will drop in when I am there in September. For those of you who are wondering what this is about, there will be a new store opening next weekend in Sngapore that will be specialist stockist of Ocean Revolution.

Jon, I assume it will also be a Heru stockist?

Hi Brandon ,

Kaiser has been our customer for a number of years now , he has his own exclusive graphics n colors as well trademark for the lures . Likewise I was invited but like you , it's too close to my trip to the eastern part of the archipelago , we both will be fishing around about the same time . I was in SIN last week for a short business visit , he showed me the location of his shop but did not get to do anything else due to my limited time there .

Hiya,

There is a good shop for jigging/popping stuff in Paris - good range,  but a little pricey..
