Title: Nomad Bugatti Video EDIT: better res version added
Post by: Travis Heaps on September 16, 2009, 10:44:48 PM
Well it's been a long time coming but i've finally thrown together an edited version of some footage from mine and Warwick's Nomad trip out to Bugatti earlier this year.  Youtube has absolutely killed the quality and you can't see some of the best footage - in particular one part where there is at least 3 GT's following right up to the boat, followed by a short cast and hookup.  Anyway, enjoy  :)

It took about 4 hours to upload but the quality is far better, enjoy.

Awesome work there Travis.  It makes me wonder why I live in a country with no GT's...

hey Travis, if youtube is badly compressing your videos you could try vimeo - www.vimeo.com (http://www.vimeo.com) - seems to be a bit more forgiving!

Great work, brings back memories..Which boat (guide) put you on the most fish? When i went it was Glanville (Glannie) he was epic in trying conditions

Most of that footage came from one day when we were out in the Contender with Tim, 19 GT's all up which was his best ever at the time.  He didn't tell us that the best day ever at the time was 24 GT's (i think) by Damon till the end of the day though - or else we would have fished harder and filmed less!

19 wow i would have killed for that, we had 25-35kn winds in May, and were supposed to do Bugatti but the Nomad crews trip out was horrendous so they went to Elusive and we flew there...Think 4 fish boated by all boats that week was the best...I would say probably the worst ever recorded hahahaha...We also did Marion so a couple of days at Elusive then a tough ride to Marion for Doggies in the same weather

Fantastic Travis,

There's nothing better than seeing a GT smack a popper.

Yep, Bugatti is the name of a very small part of the Great Barrier Reef which Nomad adopted to describe a much larger section that they fish.
