Title: Rompin sailfish popping trip 2009 .
Post by: Jon Li on October 17, 2009, 03:24:09 AM
Guys ,

Just returned from Rompin , Malaysia .

Day 1 : The 3 of us fished and we managed 2 sails by popping + 4 sails by livebaiting during the lull
        of low tide .
Day 2 : We lost an experienced member of our group due to food poisoning , still managed 2 sails but
lost 2 others due to broken hook ( Morigen brand ) + 6 sails by livebaiting .
Day 3 : Just the 2 of us fishing a half of a day , managed 1 sail by popping .

Check these images ;

Jon .

'GONG' (http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd207/bunzo51/Smileys/oops.gif), Elusive is only 4 months after Fiji.
My mate was in Rompin in Sept but they only used live baits, I had fixed him up with 1/2 doz Stickbaits but he was unable to use them, so beware what charter you go with for your favorite type of fishing.
Those pics Jon, of lure caught Sails are magic (http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd207/bunzo51/Smileys/Clapper.gif)

Bun,

I have no smart reponse to your remark.....

I am a dedicated bum wiping machine who needs to be on the look out for not sails or blacks, but a loaded set of kidneys and a fire hose pointed at me!!!!

Ain't fatherhood grand.....actually, it is  ;D

Aaron.
PS. I am dissapointed to hear no sails again!!!! They must be up off Fraser  >:(

Greg,
We don't fish for them here in CQ, but the boys dropped a small black jigging a taipan on Melb Cup Day. Bait fish have been a bit scarce this year, maybe things are a bit late this year?
