Headed out off Dampier today for some jigging. Plan was to try and catch some Red Emperor on jigs but they weren't playing the game - despite working the jigs over some pretty fine looking ground. Luckily the Rankin cod were keen to smash our jigs and plastics so ended up keeping a few for a feed and releasing the others. Also got some big Estuary Cod in the 30kg class and got reefed by unstoppables. Plenty of hungry gold spot trevally and bludger trevally also in attendance so rods were bending pretty constantly all day. Highlight of the day was this big Spaniard caught jigging the edge of a bait ball in 55m.

Top stuff Jay, now that's different, a honker Spaniard on a head fitted Assist hook, rather than a tail hook (http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd207/bunzo51/Smileys/thumbsup.gif).

Mate that is a nice spaniard, well done. Feed of rankin cod sounds like a good consolation too!

I reckon if you go low & I go high, we can sort Jay out!
He obviously needs others to take his place in the R&D area of Dampier!
