Title: Jigging Papua New Guinea
Post by: Jay Burgess on March 15, 2010, 12:12:35 AM
Just throwing ideas around for the next trip and Papua New Guinea is a destination I've been thinking about for a while... since my last couple of trips have been mainly popping oriented I was thinking about something with jigging more in mind. I'd mainly like to target BIG dogtooth on jigs with the option of fishing for GTs if things are a bit slow.. don't know if this destination is suitable but if anyone knows any reputable operators that do live aboard let me know.

Hi Jay,

This post is freaky.  We just had a seminar on Friday night about fishing in Papua New Guinea.  Seriously amazing place.

Looks like you and Duncan are on a similar thought pattern.

Jay
We do one main liveaboard trip a year with 80ft and 4 fishing boats up to 34ft other wise can fish from lodge daily. Could possibly fit in this year trip dates 1st July to 7 or will have another next year. No shortage of Dog Tooth last years video (DOGTOOTH TUNA AT NAREGA VOLCANO PAPUA NEW GUINEA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZBo5GjBPMo#))
