HI,
I am new to this site. looking at the site it has some invaluable information. I pop for kings on the south coast of NSW. Im hoping to book a trip chasing GTs in the next year or so.
I am looking for a Seed popping blank in 8 foot 3 rated PE8. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I am having trouble locating this blank. Any help is appreciated as it seems like i am looking for a needle in a haystack.
Thanks in advance,
Kurt

Kurt - you are looking for a needle in a haystack.
There is no distributor currently in Australia so the blank is pretty much unobtainable locally.

Hi Kurt,
while there is no longer a local distributor, the previous distributor may still have stocks. www.gccr.com.au (http://www.gccr.com.au) get in touch with them
alternatively try sabre in singapore?
cheers
Andrew

Thanks,
Kurt

Hey Kurt,
try mo tackle in coffs harbour and ask for ashley, i got 2 off seed blanks 7'10" 80-100lb pop paradise's of him several months ago and he mentioned that he had a 8'3" blank also, if your lucky he may still have it. You could also try campbells pro tackle in WA, bought 2 off 7'6" 24kg blanks off them, they may still have some stock left, even the rod works in SA maybe. Best of luck.
Mick.

Thanks for all your replies. Much appreciated!
I spoke to Sabre in singapore and they said it will be a 6 - 8 week wait for new stocks. It looks like i will have to wait.
I think i have called every major tackle store in aus including those mentioned. There must be one lying around in a dusty corner of a shop somewhere....?
Cheers,
Kurt

sorry to butt in kurt,
hey mick, who did you get to build your pop paradise? Have you used it yet and what do you think about it?
And kurt, if you cant get the seed you want, try a seed 7'6" pop witch, i know its considerably shorter than what you want but they seem to be a very good blank.
Cheers Dave.

hey David,
built the pop paradise myself, built one for me and another for my brother, used it in New Caledonia in Feb and found it to be awesome, very serious stick with heaps of power. Casts the poppers miles with relative ease, the recovery rate of the graphite in the blank was really good hence why it launched poppers so well. I would love to have got a pop witch though as i reckon being that bit shorter would make for a better fish fighting tool, not that i had any problems with the 7'10" but the longer the rod the more it will eventually hurt, if i had the choice i reckon 7'6" pop witch would be the go especially since they have the same rating, but couldn't source one.

mick,
yea a good friend of mine has a witch and its an absolute belter. I was gonna buy one, but had the same trouble as you, thats when i found the paradise. Im about to build two of them, one for me and one for the mate who already has a witch.
The witch casts very well, and certainly doesnt hurt the body too much. He even uses it bottom fishing (much to my disgust).
The paradise sure seems like its gonna be one hell of a powerful rod, so am really lookin forward to giving it a run.
