Post by: Bertrand Loyeung on May 21, 2010, 12:29:31 AM
i would appeciate if somebody can tell me what type of screw driver is required to unscrew the knob on  a saltiga 4500. i have a set of screw drivers and none is adequate. the groove in the screw head looks larger than normal screws. thanking you guys in anticipation

Bertrand,

A large well fitting flat blade is needed if you don't want to damage the cap in the handle knob.
The cap is made from aluminium and has an O-ring on it. It shouldn't be too tight unless salt has found its way in.

There is then a phillips head screw, inside at the bottom of the hole, that holds the knob to the handle.
You will need a snug fitting phillips driver for this as it has loctite on it. A firm hand will get this undone.

Hope this helps,
Ken

I use a 5 or 10 cent coin to undo it. Fits the slot like a glove  ;)
