Hi. Has anyone used this rod or heard anything about the performance?

Sachin - Daiwa have a number of Saltiga models which we don't get in our domestic market. The 80P is PE8 model (like the GT86) except in 8 feet length instead of 8'6". I've seen lots of GT86s but never an 80P.

I've got a GT 86 and it's a great rod for it's price. It's a good alternative for people who don't want to spend $1k on one of the Jap popping rods. I do doubt whether it could handle serously big GT's though.

Saltigas are excellent rods. I've seen some pretty big fish landed on GT86s. Sure, they haven't got the backbone of a WV80 but its only in locations like Shoalwater that you need to really load up ferociously on a rod. Mind you, the young deckie Liam from Nomad landed some great fish last year from crazy situations with a T-Curve 24kg. It was a great effort with that rod. The rod was bending all the way through to the butt but it wouldn't break!
