Title: Shimano SpeedMaster KAIBUTSU
Post by: Khaled Altaher on June 20, 2010, 09:26:35 PM
Any experience with these new Shimano SpeedMaster KAIBUTSU rods? They are much lighter than the Caranx Kaibutsu model & looks much better. I think they are also using the new guides which eliminate wind knots.

Hi Khaled.
No experience there but have used a Deep Monster Kaibutsu and a Long Cast Kaibutsu extensively.
Both have accounted for GTs over 40kg with my PB fish of 40kg estimated coming to the boat in under 4 minutes.
Good rods.
If you look at the Shimano website you will see that they label the Speedmaster Kaibutsu as a value based rod and position it below the Carnax Kaibutsu.
Hopefully some reviews will enlighten us on this line of rods.
