Howdy,
We just returned from an afternoon session out to Hook Passage in the Whitsunday islands.
It was 4:30pm when we found heaps of Giant Trevally on this rocky edge out of the current.
The area had a deep drop-off and the current was pushing past slowly as the tide had just turned.
We casted the Nomad Dogtooth 125 in the tiger colour and a Halco Roosta Haymaker over the shallows and snapped them over the edge.
We then had a session, getting around 7 strikes and landing 2.
The combination of the Popper and the Stickbait worked well!
Another fish grabbed the Stickbait and towed us out into the channel where we took turns at trying to get it in. It finally came to the surface after both of us were stuffed!
We didn't weigh or measure the fish as we wanted to release it as fast as we could.
It swam away well and we're stoked!
