Title: Jerry Brown Lines Hollow V Solid
Post by: marinco koj on July 24, 2010, 10:07:06 PM
Hi GT people

This is my first post and wanted to find out the between the solid and hollow lines. I bought 2 solid lines for a trip to Fiji next year, 1 x 100lb and the other 130lb. The guy sent my the 130lb in the Hollow, so my question is that if i keep the line is it suitable to tie PR knots the same as solid line and if so is it better and will the knots hold. I don't think that i want to learn how to splice the line and on a trip it could take to long anyway.

Send it back for sure - the benefit of hollow is splicing and if you aren't going to do that then the loss in casting distance is not worth it.  I really didn't like my 130lb JB hollow.

Thanks Travis

The line does stay very flat and thought that it could be a problem with casting.
