Title: Budget JIG Rod
Post by: Mike Heltborg on August 20, 2010, 01:28:25 PM
HI Team,

Looking for a Jig rod to go with my Saltiga 6000. - (80lb)

Will have a wide range of uses...so i know it will be abit of a compromise.

* King fish jigging and Live Baiting  - NSW...Mostly.
* Yellowfin Cubing. - ...Rarley
* Jigging and Live Baiting for GTs - Cairns...2 weeks a year.

I had a look at the Shimano Jigwrex pe6 rod which looked ok, and at $250 bucks was well priced.

Any thoughts on that rod or any others that may suit.

Will also be happy with a 2nd hand if anyone has a suitable one hanging round?

cheers
mh

In that price range I would look no further than a Jigwrex S526 - that is probably the PE6 Jigwrex you have looked at.  This rod is capable, efficient and great value for money.

I've got the S526 also.  Does the job and in a decent price range - tick.
