Title: Catching Fishzilla or Frankenfish
Post by: Chris Tan on September 04, 2010, 06:29:09 PM
Well this isn't about GTs or popping but just sharing a few pictures of fish caught this afternoon in Singapore with Brandon.

This is toman or giant snakehead caught from a local pond. Within an hour we caught 10 fish and missed many more.

These toman do go for poppers and surface lures in the wild but they are pretty much used to artificials in this pond and the fastest way to get them is on bait.

The real fishing starts in November!

Now they are very cool fish. We get a snakehead gudgeon around this way. Much smaller but look the same in shape and can also be quite colourful. Wish we head Toman here!

These fish fought pretty well considering they were farmed fish. Some did a couple of jumps like barra and even managed to pull some line out, considering we were using gears that were too heavy for them. Good fun for an hour.

Jon - that's a nice toman. Haven't ventured out to chase wild toman yet - might do that in the near future - if I can find time from GT fishing.

Hi Chris ,

My Thai fishing buddy is a follower of Kozo Okubo , he fishes with PE5 in his baitcasting outfit with " No Line Out " drag setting , for me I use PE 2~3 for most of my freshwater fishing except when tackling Blackbass which I may go as high as PE4 .

There are few freshwater species which are very exciting to target , check this link : http://beraufishing.blogspot.com/ (http://beraufishing.blogspot.com/) , I go to East Borneo province at least twice a year , a few Singapore anglers have ventured there too .

Why does it show up so small?

No, no - you really have to see the similarities with the cap and the glasses.

Brandon, I've seen a hat with a propellor for sale in the night markets here. Maybe if you wear it you can get Tak to go 'Da plane! Da plane!' in exchange. The character's name is Nobito by the way. There's another big fat character in there that likes to bully him and give him a good 'avalanche' every once in a while. Bugger.

Am I getting myself kicked out of next years MCA tournament? :o

Now this is just getting rude. You've likened me to a character that gets avalanched in every episode?!  >:(

Brandon,

Because Tak refused to say 'Da plane Da plane''.........I think you should buy him one of those hats and make it compulsory for him to wear next year at MCA tournament.

What's going here!!

Brandon - now we know who was the meanest man on Odyssey!

No worries Sunny - I'll get 'Doraemon' hand painting on Brandon's next custom rod or he can always choose 'hello kitty' too
