Hi guys,
I'm about to book a trip to Fiji to chase GT's, reefies etc. I'm wondering about dates, and whether it is more important to choose good tides at times of the day, or a particular phase of the moon cycle? It is planned for mid to end of January, not sure for how long yet, waiting to see if a mate can come along also and my budget aswell.
Any info would be appreciated.
Cheers Dave.

David - for GTs, I like to focus on big tidal movements so I tend to pick times around the full moon and the new moon. As to whether the full moon or the new moon is better, well, this is a point of debate often. I pefer the full moon myself. From my experience though, not all species like the big moon and big tidal movements. Reefies are lazy fish and are going to seek out areas where they do not have to fight the current and particularly on big tides, may seek shelter from the areas which GTs seem to thrive in.
