As above, does any one use the above knots with success for connecting main leader of say 100lb to a bite leader of 200lb?
I was at a shop today...the guy was showing this is how he connects for popping. According to him, Mr Capenter himself also did likewise. Can jon confirm?
:)

A uni to uni is standard for connecting a heavier/FC bite leader to shock leader. You can also nail knot, or use crimps if the line classes can't be knotted.
Wouldn't bother trying an Albright - the knot would be massive.

Thanks luke,
I always have the impression that uni to uni knot aint strong enough because of its not-so-popularity
:)

I can't get the really heavy bite leader to knot effectively with a uni knot so as I learned from Neil, I use a nail knot on this end and a uni on the shock leader.

I am not sure what Mr. Konishi uses but I use what is locally termed as " cat paw " knot over the crimped loop of heavy fluorocarbon leader , so far none has slipped yet .

Good idea Brandon!
Jon, care to share what kind of crimps yer using? Are jinkai ones OK for the job?

Juan , you can use any kind of crimp you like. You just have to make sure you crimpy it firmly. The Jinkai ones are fine. I have a preference for the barrel ones though as they are more compact.
