Just wondering other than a smaller Diametre If there any other reason why we use briad over Lo Strech Mono like the Platypus ??? I know its only Available in up to 24kgs but as a lighter option on a reel with a large spool such as the Saltigas and Stella's would it not be ok. I can see so many advantages of this type of mono what am i missing ??? ???

While it's called lo-stretch I imagine it still has a lot more stretch than braid.
Stretch makes working big lures a lot harder, as it soaks up any action you are trying to impart.
Also means when a fish is on, it can actually gain a couple of metres without taking line off the spool, which can be critical. In pump and wind situations it is easier to put line back on the reel with braid - with mono you pull back then as you drop the rod to wind in the mono contracts.
The diameter is a big stumbling block, considering 80lb braid is about the same as 20lb mono. This cuts down both line capacity and casting distance drastically.
Apart from that it's ok though ;D
