Grab your copy today of New Zealand Fishing World with my recent trip to the Three Kings where Brad from Jigstar Australia landed the largest ever bass on a jig at 81kg !

Andrew,

That fish is a monster! I need to buy a copy of that mag to get all the details.

I tried jigging for a bass on Sunday off the Gold Coast, but in 350 m plus my FCL Labo LB 540gr jig could not get to the bottom successfully. I had nearly 600 m of PE 6 out. Abandoning the jig for the deep dropper rig, I managed to land 21 kg and 32 kg models.

Hi Matt

Well done on the bass, I am yet to target them of the Gold Coast here if you ever need to fill a spot on the boat let me no  ;D

I think the FCL jigs you are using without seeing them in person only a photo on the net might not be the jig you are after, a Jigging Master 500gram rocket jig should get you down faster as it is more tail weighted, the lumo ones are deadly in that depth.
I have some 2kg jigs coming from overseas at the start of next month, these will get straight to the bottom and believe me the bass will climb all over them, I got dusted will using one on my last trip in New Zealand  ;)

Cheers Andrew

2kg would make for some brutal jigging if the fish are not on the bite!

;D you dont have to jig them for the bass Greg just knock them out with it on the way down and they float to the surface  ;)
