Title: Shimano Talica 2
Post by: Craig Maree on August 14, 2011, 03:32:50 PM
What size Talica would you pair with Smith AMJ AMJ S52EX and Smith WGJ S56SLH.

How would the reel size compare in line capacity to a Stella 20000?

Why would you buy a two speed for a jigger?

I have the TAC8 and its a rock solid 50lb reel, although I did take a tip from Synit's Graeme Paterson and swapped the handle for the longer one, from the Torsa.

I run a talica 12ii on a cts 5'6 300-450 rod. Dont use it alot for jigging as i like spinning better. Use this setup for live baiting most of the time and its an awesome reel for that task, 2 speeds nice too. I find the reel arms a bit short for the jigging motion but can be used tho. Got 390m of 80lb suffix meter braid on it.
Hope this helps.

Has anyone used the Talica TAC25II for jigging? If it is suitable, I am thinking of this reel for jigging from 200 m (kingies) and 300 m to 400 m (bass groper and the like) and matched to my Blue Rose stick.
Cheers,
Matt
