Went for a trip to the reef today with a mate and his brother from pom-land.  Jason usually fishes for carp, so GT's made for a bit of a change.

Did pretty well with GT's to about 15kg, Turrum and an 8kg Green Jobfish, as well as shark mackeral and Mac Tuna on slugs.  Here's some pics

This fish came from a double hook-up.  About five of his brothers came swarming after the lure, with this one getting the prize

Stephen, how did the carp fisherman react to his first run from a GT?
I get great amusement from watching the odd fishing show from the UK when the carps are making a run and you hear the reel going "tick, tick, tick....." and the commentator is exclaiming "they're such a powerful fish....."

Yeah they love their carp that's for sure, apparently they're a  much revered sport fish in pom-land.  I don't think he wanted to give too much away, but I could tell he was pretty surprised by the G-power.

one of the other guys on the forum (I think David Sharples) wrote that some of the carp have been caught so many times they have names!

Gday Steve,
