have recently purchased a coral viper for my 10 000 and am now looking into buying a rod more for just poppers/popping only and want it to be a pe8-10 rod for a stella 18000. Will be boat based so not too long. Price not too much of an issue but if i can get away with buying a better value rod for less $$$$$ i will do so.
Any reccomendations ...
Cheers

I am a huge fan of the Carpenter MH80H Marko and think it would suit you very well.
You should also look at its slightly gruntier and shorter relative the MH79XH.
Another good option would be the Ripple Fisher 79R.
All 3 of those are excellent rods for medium-large and large poppers, and would combine beautifully with the CV79/40 in a 2 rod armoury.
You have good casting skills, so I don't think you need to go for a rod any longer that 8 feet unless you intend visiting sites where super long casting is required.
Obviously all of those are high dollar options. If you do want to spend less, then take at look at the Kaiser El Toro 150, or even the heavier 180. That rod will do a similar job for a lot less dollars. The Australian stockist is Gara Pro Shop.

Ditto that.
The MH80H would compliment the CV79/40 very well as a heavier PE8-10 rod.

My choice would be the Ripple Fisher GT79H. Although rated to pe12, it fishes pe10 nicely.
Pops n casts the Heru Cuberas 150 to Craftbait GT3 190g beautifully as well
