Guys
Before I handover $110 for a Patriot Design World Combat 175, has anyone had any experience with this lure and is it worth the spend?
Details can be found here: http://www.fishhead.com.au/store/products/Patriot-Design-World-Combat-175.html (http://www.fishhead.com.au/store/products/Patriot-Design-World-Combat-175.html)
Lure is 205mm Long and Weighs 175g.
Thanks Ben

If Craftbait forgot to carve the cup out of a GT3, it'd look a lot like this! ;D

Good call Brandon ;D.
Ben , I would suggest that if you are building a collection of lures, then there are better options for the money than this one. Nothing against PD as I really like the Master Bomb.

Thanks guys.
I'm going to buy 1 more lure - just not sure whichone to add to the below, any further suggestions (Budget around $100):
(Rod: Komodo Dragon, Reel: Stella 18000)

- FCL Ebipop 200 x 1.

- Nomad Cubera 125 x 1.
- Nomad Cubera 150 x 1.
- Patriot Master-Bomb 155 x 1.
- Fullscale Kong 180 x1.
- Carpenter Sea-Frog 120 x1.
- Craftbait GT3 150 x 1.
Total Poppers = 9

From poppers that are readily available, I would add another GT3 150 or Cubera 150. These are the poppers I would use most often and having more than one has to be good.
But I see you do not have single pencil in there. So, I reckon that would be a good addition. See what you can find in ready stock but ones I like include Adhek Ocean Lady 160, Craftbait GT Pencil 140 and Carpenter Kattobi. Might be tough finding any of those in stock in Australia in which case try Fisherman Long Pen (but be ready for the finish to fall off), Hammerhead Tobi or one of the Full Scale pencils (can't speak for those but I am sure others can and they look great!).

If I had to recommend 1 more lure it would be another GT3 in another color!

Best I can find on the GT3's is $100.
Ben - When are you picking up the Orion?
-
Go the World Combat and come back and tell us how it works!
-
You can't go on a trip without a single pencil! I know some think they are old fashioned but not me :)
-
I just noticed you don't have any Halco "Roosta's" in your quiver. Cheap and effective!
Also Marks advice above is very relevant, get a pencil or two!

Rosters slay G's!
Adhek Goby & Nomad Skipjack are worth a look in pencil styles.

I would recommend the heru tuna, it's half popper half pencil. Was my fav lure till it was taken by a gt as a trophy from a short lived battle.
Not sure if they are called a tuna in the nomad/kaiser/blackjack ranges etc.
-
Nomad call them Skipjack.
I thinks it's really a long popper more than anything else.

The Tuna is different to the Skipjack Mark. I don't think i ever saw it in the Nomad range, they really weren't all that common. I like them as a small popper, easy to work and as Warwick said, very effective around these parts.
A quick search found one here - http://www.pechextreme.com/en/product.aspx?product_id=65f803c5-f6dc-4ee3-8f08-4256c5b4d999 (http://www.pechextreme.com/en/product.aspx?product_id=65f803c5-f6dc-4ee3-8f08-4256c5b4d999)
Something a bit different you don't have on the list Ben is a Patriot Design XTX - like a swimming popper, I don't find them easy to get a pop out of but it's possible and then a seductive little wiggle below the surface.
-
Travis is right - the Tuna is actually a small popper, around 80g is size and Nomad never bought them in under their own name. It has some similarities in its shape but is clearly a different lure to the Skipjack
-
Pretty sure the one I had was 100g not sure if they came any bigger but it was a lure you could pop easily all day, sat in the water well whatever the condition, could be popped slow or fast..... Wish I had another one! Actually I think Travis tried to sell me his at a ridiculously high price after I lost mine... He nearly got the sale! :P
-
Whoops ... sorry guys. You are dead right and I was very wrong.
Thanks for the link Travis. Heru Tuna looks like a cute little popper - interesting one.
