Title: EVA Damage - Where in Brisbane can I get it repaired / Replaced?
Post by: Ben Rivers on March 03, 2012, 03:06:41 PM
Guys,

Braid with a 20kg Mackeral going on its first run vs a Rod grip in a rod holder don't mix!!

The old man had a Mackeral running and his braid hit my Komodo Dragon Upper EVA Grip (whilst sitting in a rod holder) and took a BIG chunk out of it.

Does anyone know where I can get it repaired or replaced in Brisbane? And the expected cost?

Thanks Ben

The obvious choice for me would be talk to Duncan at fishheads.
The recent repairs I had done on Carpenter and Ripple rods were great.

I had guides replaced but I imagine that the guy they farmed the work out to would be able to help you out.

Dunno if he'd be able to carve a dragon into the new piece

any rod maker can replace the EVA with his eyes closed. If you want it restored to original though, it will have to go back to Smith in Japan but I really don't think you would like the cost of this. There would be guys locally who could shape it so it is similar to the original but I don't know anyone in Brisbane.

Fish Head do have a very good rod builder.  Over the years he has worked some miracles.  We are working on Ben's Komodo now so should have the Komodo back out ready to do battle again soon,

Cheers,

Janelle
